Conference: Transfer operators in number theory and quantum chaos
Dates: February 3-7, 2020
Venue: HIM lecture hall, Poppelsdorfer Allee 45, Bonn
Organizers: Manfred Einsiedler (Zürich), Martin Möller (Frankfurt), Anke Pohl (Bremen), Tom Ward (Leeds)
Description:
Thermodynamic formalism and transfer operators have their origins in physics. Nowadays, techniques and tools from these fields are appreciated in many areas of dynamical systems, and they sometimes can serve as bridge builders to other areas of mathematics as well. For example, for some recent advances in number theory and quantum chaos transfer operators and methods from thermodynamic formalism have been crucial. The aim of this conference is to provide a platform for the exchange of ideas and to progress this theory.
