Collaboration between experts in applied and computational algebraic topology

Dates: September 4 - 29, 2017
Venue: HIM, Poppelsdorfer Allee 45, Bonn
Organizers: Herbert Edelsbrunner, Kathryn Hess, Michael Farber, Dmitry Feichtner-Kozlov, Martin Raussen

September 2017 at the Hausdorff Research Institute for Mathematics is devoted to collaboration among invited experts in various areas of Applied and Computational Algebraic Topology. While cross-fertilization between various methods and subjects is an important goal, we will particularly focus in those four weeks on the following research areas.

  • Week 1 (4.9.-8.9.): Various topics in Applied and Computational Algebraic Topology (coordinators: Dmitry Feichtner-Kozlov and Martin Raussen)
  • Week 2 (11.9.-15.9.): Distributed Computing and Concurrency (coordinators: Dmitry Feichtner-Kozlov and Martin Raussen)
  • Week 3 (18.9.-22.9.): Topological Data Analysis (coordinator: Herbert Edelsbrunner)
  • Week 4 (25.9.-29.9.): Stochastic Topology (coordinator: Michael Farber)

Only a small number of talks will be advertised; ample time for work in small groups is considered very important.
