Workshop on Geometric Flows
Date: November 22 - 25, 2011
Venue: HIM lecture hall, Poppelsdorfer Allee 45
Organizers: Robert Haslhofer (ETH Zürich), Panagiotis Konstantis (Uni Tübingen),
Jan Swoboda (MPI Bonn)
This workshop covered recent progress on geometric flows and related topics from geometric analysis. About half of the talks were on Hamilton's Ricci flow and the mean curvature flow. Complementary topics included the Yang-Mills flow, G2-manifolds and an associated heat flow, knot energies and their gradient flows, metrics of prescribed scalar curvature, and Willmore surfaces. There was plenty of time for informal discussions. The interaction between participants working on a variety of flows was very fruitful.
