Participants of the Summer School

This summer school focused on applications of surgery theory to the topology of high dimensional manifolds. It was designed for PhD students and recent postdocs working in topology.

The summer school consisted of a four part lecture series:

  • Spiros Adams-Florou (University of Münster): An introduction to surgery theory
  • Diarmuid Crowley (Max Planck Institute for Mathematics): Surgery on smooth manifolds
  • Tibor Macko (University of Bonn): Algebraic L-theory
  • Wolfgang Lück (University of Bonn, HIM Director): Isomorphism conjectures in K- and L-theory

The lecture series were complemented by exercise and problem sessions.
